Expert Porcelain Veneers by Fresno Dental Professionals
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom made for each patient. Veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth and have the ability to completely change your smile.
Transforming your teeth can not only have a huge impact on the way you look but can also impact how you feel about yourself. The mouth makes up approximately 1/3 of a person’s face. Veneers can do much more than just enhance your smile. Choosing to get veneers to maximize the appearance of your smile is a non-surgical cosmetic option to minimize features that you may find less than desirable such as a crooked nose, deviated chin, thin upper lip, hollow cheeks, or frown lines.
Our Fresno dentists carefully customize each patient’s treatment plan. Each dentist takes into account the individual’s face shape, gender, even their personality to help create the perfect fitting veneer or veneers for that individual.
Before treatment begins, each patient can see a digital mock-up of before and after images of their smile. This ensures that their desired smile is attainable before their teeth are touched.

Veneers are commonly used to fix:
• Damaged, worn, broken, chipped, or stained teeth
• Irregularly shaped or misaligned teeth
• To close in gaps between teeth.
Because porcelain veneers are made of the most bio-compatible material available, they can be used next to the gum line (gingiva). They are stain resistant and can last many years. Many people chose porcelain veneers over other alternatives because of the conservative treatment process. Porcelain veneers require little to no prep, which means that only a small amount of the tooth itself needs to be removed in order to fit the porcelain veneer.
Alternative options:
• Teeth whitening (bleaching)
• Composite bonding
• Crowns
• Orthodontics
What does getting porcelain veneers involve?
Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process. During the first visit, the teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. A mold or impression of the teeth is taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen by you and the dentist.
On the second visit, the teeth are cleaned with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.
Once veneers are placed, patients are given care instructions and are coached on how to properly brush, floss, and care for their new porcelain veneers.
